San Diego @ (22) Saint Mary's 2/10/22 (NCAAB)

Looking at the WCC, there is of course the one standout team Gonzaga, then there is everybody else. The newly ranked Saint Mary's (19-5) will welcome in San Diego (13-11) as they attempt to bounce back after that weak defensive performance against Santa Clara.

This one will be quick and sweet. This is the type of spot we like just like we had a couple of weeks back. A very solid defensive in SDSU team where they had a lax game of allowing the other team to impose their will, then came back next game and completely shut down an inferior opponent. We have the same recipe here today on top of the newly ranked team losing a game then coming back home looking to avenge that loss. Defensively, this Gaels team is ranked 19th in the nation which I expect them to showcase that talent on the defensive side tonight. This Gaels team ranks 327th in pace, averages 6.8 steals per game, and limits turnovers when facing teams of the same caliber as San Diego. The Toreros run a slow pace as well and do not shoot at lot of 3's as they only average 5.8 per game. Look for Saint Mary's to press San Diego from the start and give them fits inside the paint as well with big man Matthias Tass. Head coach for the Gaels Randy Bennett said post game after their loss,

"We didn't defend well enough to win this game."

Usually when the coach makes a statement like that on a defensive minded first team, expect him to have his team ready for a bounce back by winning this game with a stout defensive performance.

Currently the odds sit at Saint Mary's -14.5 (-110) O/U 128. With such a low total on the board, the market as well is expecting a bounce back from this Saint Mary's team.
