Oklahoma @ TCU 1/15/22 (NCAAB)

Big 12 conference is full steam ahead as we get some wild results already. A great defensive battle is ahead as Oklahoma (12-4) heads to play TCU (11-2) at the Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, TX.

Oklahoma is coming off an awful performance as they traveled to Texas and lost 66-52. Listening to coach Porter Moser's post game press conference, he acknowledges the mistakes Oklahoma made offensively and falling into Texas's game plan while not getting great shots. He also notes that the physicality was lacking and his guys just did not respond well this game. Typically, when a good coach can recognize their mistakes after a disappointing loss, they shift their focus and make a point to come out next game fixing those mistakes. This Sooners team shoots 3rd in the nation from the field and 74.3% from the free throw line. On the other end, the Horned Frogs rank 243rd in the nation in filed goal percentage and hit an underwhelming 68.3% from the free throw line. One edge that TCU has is the rebounding as they average 40.3 per game compared to Oklahoma at 30.3 per game which is a large difference.

Looking at TCU's schedule, their numbers seem to be inflated as they have played an extremely soft schedule to begin the season. Again, making the point here that conference play will determine who a team really is, TCU will most likely get exposed this game with their struggles from the field. TCU's win against Kansas St. is not all that impressive to me as Kansas St. offensively does not pose a problem to many schools.

Currently the odds are Oklahoma -1.5 (-110) O/U 135. We are getting a short number here on Oklahoma due to both teams previous games. Oklahoma as a whole is an all around better team both on the offensive end and the defensive end. Look for the Sooners to control this game with their shooting and moving the ball around to get their offense going.
