San Francisco Giants vs. San Diego Padres | 3 unit play

As of late, both pitchers have looked to be in pretty solid form which would bode well for an under in tonight's game. When we dig a bit deeper into Musgrove, at home, he has been just a tad worse by posting a 2.61 ERA compared to his 2.00 on the road. When we move over to the projected lineup, we get to see that these batters in the lineup have seen him quite a bit and after seeing what the Phillies did to Musgrove two games back, we know that he is susceptible to another bad outing.

Against the lefties in this lineup, he is allowing a batting average of .341 to these hitters which is WELL above his average on the season of .197 to lefties. With a decent amount of at bats as well, the Giants hitters will have the advantage here. When we look into Logan Webb and see how he has performed lifetime against the Padres lineup, we see the similar type of stats. The difference here is that against lefties, Webb has not been all that great allowing a .280 average to them.

Out of the 5 lefties in the Padres lineup, 4 of them have faced Webb in the past where they have combined to hit Webb at an average of .360. Add all of that up with Webb's 3.77 ERA on the road, this looks like a promising spot to take advantage of a slight edge. As long as the right handed batters in both lineups can get a few knocks the second time around seeing these pitchers, we should have the recipe for an over in the first 5 innings of a very short number.
