(20) Texas @ (10) Baylor 2/12/22 (NCAAB)

A potential BIG 12 final matchup here as we get two of the top teams in this conference facing off for the first time this season. Texas (18-6) heads to the Ferrell Center in Waco to take on Baylor (20-4) which is sure to be a treat for some early basketball to kick off a full Saturday card.

This Texas team has dramatically stepped up their defensive game as Chris Beard has made it a major focus in order to get this team ready for the tournament. The Longhorns have forced 15.6 turnovers during this last 3 games against the likes of tough opponents in Kansas, Iowa St, and Texas Tech. Another thing they have done well as of late is getting their bench players involved as they have collectively put up 22 and 32 bench points over the last 2 games. If this team stays motivated and keeps clicking like they have been, then they will not be an easy opponent for Baylor. Baylor has a slightly higher field goal percentage as they knock down 47.2% compared to Texas currently hitting 45.4%. Baylor defensively is ranked 14th in the nation with a defensive rating of 90.6, but will be facing one tall task as they go head to head against a tough 5th ranked Texas defensive which is rated at 88. Expect this game to be a hard fought battle and for both teams to bring fourth their best effort. With Baylor having lost 4 of their last 9 games, is this a point where we fade a possible overrated Baylor team, or fade Texas's last big performance? 1 key to this game will be the return of LJ Cryer from injury. I expect him to be back for this matchup which means we need to grab the best of this number before it moves too much.

Currently the odds sit at Baylor -6 (-108) O/U 129.5. Expect the public money to be on Texas after that win against Kansas, but the line move in the opposite direction. Grab this number overnight as the worst of the number will be available in the morning.

Baylor -6 (-108) - 1 unit
